When I first met Sensei Guzman, I was intrigued. To be honest, since I was a child, I have always been fascinated by disciplined and strong men whom I consider to be successful.
Perhaps this stems from my father-daughter bond and the memories of watching my father work tirelessly from sunup to sundown. I always aspired to carry that same energy as a female. Maybe I miss my father since his passing and subconsciously seek strong alpha male mentors to fill that void.
But I am far from the only one drawn to Sensei Guzman. For generations, an entire community has looked to him for guidance. He has built his success and foundation in Las Cruces by mentoring and teaching our community the values of discipline and faith.
What makes Sensei Guzman stand out, at least to me, is his openness about leading with faith and putting God first. It does not matter what your background is—he has mentored and worked with individuals of all ages and walks of life, instilling universal values like faith and discipline.
As a family man, Sensei Guzman takes great pride in his own children and recently welcomed a son to his family. He leads his community the same way he leads his family: with God at the center. His unwavering commitment to faith and his genuine care for those he mentors make him not only a remarkable leader but also an invaluable pillar of our community. Sensei Guzman’s impact resonates far beyond his dojo, touching the lives of those who seek strength, guidance, and purpose.
